Diet train wreck

June 20, 2010 by Doug Lerner   Comments (1)

Things have not been going well on my diet lately. I run the risk of regaining everything I lost the first 6 months, which wasn't that much to begin with.

I need some sort of change of pace, but not sure what to try next.

One good thing, is that this happens to people all the time, and as long as they just continue on the right track things work out well - like it's happened before with many many diet successes, since the main thing most diet winners (like you have done) seem to say is that their healthy diet lifestyle is long term ongoing, and not just temporary for a while, so it's ok to have ups and downs as a practical reasonable thing, and then just continue back on the healthy track, etc. maybe some good thing to try is some gym membership, where you can hang out and exercise with like-minded healthy types, and it would be fun to get more exercise and maybe even have a place with a pool, since you always liked swimming also when you went to pools etc.  and/or, if you don't want to waste time going to a gym, you can schedule some good exercises on your own, like free exercises work just as well! Maybe get some good walking/exercise dvd's or something, etc. Also it's fun to do this with other people - we can all join the healthy bandwagon as a good thing. and compare results and all be losers :) another good thing about working out is that eating healthy and exercising are more important to keep people healthy than weight itself, so it's always a good idea to get regular exercise anyway. and once people start on a healthy exercise routine, the weight loss follows, like all those shows on TV about the biggest losers etc :) also I heard that people who go to weight loss groups always lose more weigh than others - maybe for the same reason that people who go to gyms usually exercise better like I heard also, maybe since it's just more interesting and fun.
